James Harden to miss 76ers’ Vs Milwaukee season opener coach Nick Nurse confirmed that Harden is “fine” with this decision, given that he didn’t participate in the preseason and missed practice the previous week for a termed personal matter. However, Harden unexpectedly showed up at the team’s complex in Camden, New Jersey, on Wednesday, ready to play.

Harden’s arrival was disclosed on Tuesday night, and although he engaged in early and late practice sessions, he didn’t participate in the game preparation for the matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

This season’s opener, featuring NBA MVP Joel Embiid and two-time scoring champion against Milwaukee’s two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, is scheduled for Thursday.

Coach Nurse explained that Harden will remain with the team to engage in on-court work with staff, G League players, two-way players, and others to facilitate his return to game readiness. This decision aligns with Harden’s acceptance.

Part of Harden’s dissatisfaction stems from his belief that he deserved a long-term contract with the Sixers after the last season. Despite him picking up his contract option for this season with the expectation of a trade, it did not materialize.

The 76ers have upcoming games against Toronto and Portland, but Coach Nurse refrained from confirming Harden’s participation in these games as it depends on his ramp-up process.
