Victor Wembanyama Puts on Weight and Talks About Eastern Conference

Victor Wembanyama puts on weight and has gained of 10-15 pounds (4.5-6.8 kg) during the offseason and discussed his thoughts on the Eastern Conference.

San Antonio Spurs first-round pick, Victor Wembanyama, is preparing for his debut NBA season through a rigorous offseason training routine.

During his inaugural NBA Media Day appearance, the French athlete emphasized the substantial impact of his dedicated efforts not only in his rookie season but also throughout his career.

When addressing questions about  Victor Wembanyama puts on weight and physical transformation he shared, “Ever since I have been in San Antonio, I have gained 10-15 pounds [4.5-6.8 kg]. I’m trying to stop there, not add too much too quickly. We are on a good path. As I was saying, my conditioning and physical condition are way, way better than at any time before in my life, so we are good.”

Before these changes, his previous weight had been recorded at 210 pounds, equivalent to 95 kilograms.

Wembanyama also recognized the Spurs’ proficiency in player development, mentioning that he has acquired more knowledge about his body in the past three months than in the previous five years.

“The Spurs know a lot more than any of my teams before because they can run some tests more thoroughly. All of this is very technical,” he explained.

When asked about the key distinctions between Europe and the United States, Wembanyama emphasized the cohesive culture within the Spurs organization.

“Back in Europe, the whole organizations — front office, coaches, staff — they are not as dedicated to have great ambitions long-term. Sometimes, in Europe, there are some fights between players and coaches, players and the front office. Here, everyone works in harmony, and everyone is working towards the same goal,” he stated.

Wemby added. “I know it’s not the same with every franchise, but here (points up at banners), they know how to win these, They’ve done it before, and they wanna do it again. Everyone is working toward the same goal, and it’s just a beautiful harmony.”
