Triumph of Suns vs Warriors as Devin Booker Excels on Opening Night

In an exciting Suns vs Warrior opening night clash, the Phoenix Suns secured a 108-104 victory against the Golden State Warriors. Devin Booker, taking on an expanded playmaking role following Chris Paul’s departure, showcased his skills by contributing 32 points, eight assists, and six rebounds to lead Phoenix to victory.

Suns vs Warrior

Booker, primarily known for his scoring abilities, played a pivotal role in the game’s closing moments, assisting on Phoenix‘s final eight points in a closely contested battle.

Kevin Durant, making his first return to the Bay Area as a visiting player since his departure from Golden State in 2019, encountered difficulties against the robust Warriors’ defense, finishing with 18 points on 22 field goal attempts.

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry, the Warriors’ star player, managed to score 27 points but struggled to find his three-point shot, making only 4 of 14 attempts. Both Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins had their share of shooting woes, collectively going 8 for 30 from the field.

Chris Paul, in his debut for the Warriors against his former team, faced challenges with his shooting, going 4 for 15 overall and missing all six of his three-point attempts. Although Paul provided nine assists and offered stability when Curry faced foul trouble, he faced difficulties finding separation for midrange jump shots, as he has never been known for his three-point shooting.

Despite being undersized and without Draymond Green, the Warriors held their own on the boards. However, they conceded critical second-chance points, proving detrimental to their performance. In summary, Golden State’s subpar 23% shooting from beyond the arc will likely hinder their success in many games.

Phoenix played without Bradley Beal, who was sidelined due to a back injury.
