Sacramento Kings Reportedly Release NBA Player After 4-Year

Nowell, a 24-year-old guard, had a noteworthy season with the Timberwolves, appearing in 65 regular season games. He posted averages of 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field and 28.9% from beyond the arc.

He also made five appearances in the NBA playoffs, though the Timberwolves were eliminated in the first round by the Denver Nuggets.

Although Nowell recently signed with the Sacramento Kings this summer, Charania’s report suggests that he will not continue with the team.

Originally selected as the 43rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Washington, Nowell has spent his entire career with the Timberwolves. In his 184 regular season games, he holds career averages of 9.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, shooting 44.7% from the field and 32.2% from beyond the three-point line.

Having also participated in six NBA playoff games and contributed to the Timberwolves’ back-to-back postseason appearances, Nowell’s youthful talent and scoring ability make him an attractive prospect for potential suitors.

As the regular season kicks off in less than a week, basketball enthusiasts will keep a close eye on Nowell’s future endeavors.

For the Sacramento Kings, their opening game of the 2023-24 regular season is slated for October 25 when they face the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. In the previous season, they exited the NBA playoffs in the first round, falling to the Golden State Warriors.
