Player Injuries Galore: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Boston Celtics Clash

Anticipation was high among NBA enthusiasts for Marcus Smart’s potential revenge game against the Boston Celtics, but that excitement has been curtailed for tonight’s matchup.

The Memphis Grizzlies are grappling with an extensive injury list, featuring a staggering nine sidelined players: Jake LaRavia, Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke, GG Jackson II, Luke Kennard, Ja Morant, Derrick Rose, Marcus Smart, and Xavier Tillman.

Jake LaRavia is in doubt due to a left eye abrasion, Steven Adams is ruled out following right knee PCL surgery, Brandon Clarke is sidelined due to left Achilles tendon repair, GG Jackson II is out due to a two-way transfer, Luke

Kennard is absent due to a left knee bone bruise, Ja Morant faces a league suspension, Derrick Rose is sidelined due to left knee injury maintenance, Marcus Smart is unavailable due to a left foot sprain, and Xavier Tillman is out during a left knee injury recovery.

On the other side, the Boston Celtics’ injury report includes four players: Jaylen Brown, JD Davison, Nathan Knight, and Jordan Walsh. Jaylen Brown’s status is uncertain due to a right adductor strain, while JD Davison, Nathan Knight, and Jordan Walsh are all out on a G League two-way. Brown stands as the potential sole injured player for Boston.

Notably, the Memphis Grizzlies face the challenge of a back-to-back encounter against the Celtics tonight. This matchup stands as arguably the season’s toughest test for Memphis, encountering the team with the NBA’s best record—a team relatively unscathed by injuries—while grappling with their injury-depleted roster on the second night of a back-to-back.
