Embiid mentioned that they entrusted Harden with the ball frequently due to his exceptional abilities, especially as a passer.
This was the first time Embiid had spoken to the media since Harden’s trade to the Clippers, which had been a long-anticipated move following a public dispute with the team’s president of basketball operations, Daryl Morey.
Harden, in a recent press conference, criticized his role with the 76ers, asserting that he is not just a “system player” but the “system” itself.
Regarding Harden’s departure, Embiid expressed his happiness for his former teammate and wished him success in his future endeavors. He also hoped for both of them to reach the Finals, even if Harden ended up on the opposing side.
Harden is scheduled to make his debut with the Clippers against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
