Argentina wins the FIBA Americup by defeating Brazil in the opposition’s den. The game went deep to the buzzer beater with both sides going neck to neck all through the four quarters. It was Argentina who emerges victorious despite playing on the home turf of Brazil. Brazil had super solid home crowd support with it which kept them going. Each Brazil point home crowd cheer had the ability to blow off the roof of the arena. And every single bucket from Argentina resulted in a deafening silence. The environment was spectacular in the Americup finals but the home crowd was disappointed in the end.

The second quarter had Brazil down 14 to 26. The comeback from Brazil was right in time when they reduced Argentina’s lead to 7 points. However, it was Argentina that won the second quarter as well and went into the latter half of the game with a lead of 10.

The 2nd Half of the FIBA Americup Finals

Brazil’s recovery in the third quarter was superb, they reduced Argentina’s lead to 5. However, it was the unforced and unnecessary fouls from Brazil that gave away easy points to Argentina. With 16 seconds remaining on the buzzer, it was all or none for Brazil as it went for a timeout to decide about the final shot of the game. However, Brazil missed the clutch shot and Argentina won the game.
