The unveiling of the Tissot Countdown Clock is the epicenter of a series of events designed to stimulate fans’ interest in the host cities of the flagship tournament, which will begin on September 1, 2022. The countdown watch has been placed in the exemplary Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II arcade and the clock is ticking down to the start of the first game in the Italian city.

The Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, and the Councilor for Sport, Tourism, and Youth, Martina Riva welcomed FIBA Executive Director Europe Kamil Novak to the capital of Lombardy.

Mr. Kamil Novak addressed:

“The 100 Days To Go marks an important milestone ahead of FIBA EuroBasket 2022,” said Mr. Novak. “I have to say we are very pleased with how the preparations are going in all four hosting countries and I’m confident the event will be one to remember. You can really sense the anticipation building all around Europe and we are equally excited as well.”

Meanwhile, a brilliant panel included star forward Danilo Gallinari, head coach Meo Sacchetti, icon Dino Meneghin, FIP president Giovanni Petrucci, and LOC president Raffaelle Pagnozzi presented the Italian national team and the Local Organizing Committee.

Gallinari said:

“I’m ready for another adventure wearing the NT jersey. I hope to be part of the group. I’m excited, we are all very excited. We can’t wait to play. ”

“My emotions wearing the ‘Azzurri’ jersey have always been the same. It’s incredible emotionally. I wore it for the first time when I was 14 years old. You think you get used to it when you grow up, but the reality is different. It’s honestly tough to explain.”

The star forward has already assessed the home advantage from every angle.

The events coincided with the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 Trophy Tour’s Milan stop, with the coveted trophy remaining in the city until Wednesday to allow fans to take photos with both the watch and the silverware. On Wednesday in Prague, national team standout Tomas Satoransky will be present, together with head coach Ronen Ginzburg and Czech Basketball Federation secretary general Michal Konecny, as well as the Mayor of the Czech capital Zdenek Hrib to demonstrate the city’s dedication to the important event.

The group stage of FIBA EuroBasket 2022 will take place from September 1 to September 11, with Tbilisi hosting Group A, Cologne hosting Group B, Milan hosting Group C, and Prague hosting Group D. The elimination matchups of the Final Stage will be held in Berlin.
