Brittney Griner received a nine-year prison sentence in Russia. As the international debate over her arrest and sentencing goes on, rumors that she formerly dated Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis have emerged.
The seven-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year was jailed in Russia after it was claimed that she was found in possession of vape cartridges. After being found guilty of drug-related felonies earlier this month, Griner was given a nine-year term. Her defense team has stated that an appeal will be made of the allegations.
The rumors that made news in 2015 and connected Griner to NBA star Anthony Davis have recently resurfaced. Rumor has it that Griner and Davis started dating soon after Grinner ended her relationship with WNBA star Glory Johnson. The divorce was finally concluded after Johnson and Griner utilized IVF to create twins and Griner filed for divorce.
Griner said that she was not a part of the IVF procedure and that Johnson was only forced onto Griner. Johnson retorted that he believed the opposite to be true, claiming that Griner chose the donor with the blonde hair and blue eyes.

Shortly after their divorce, Griner reportedly began seeing Davis, who was at the time a star for the New Orleans Pelicans. Griner and her new companion initially kept their relationship a secret. Davis ultimately began to elaborate on it though.
“She is everything to me… We have an amazing relationship and have so much in common. We even wear the same size clothes and shoes, so sometimes she borrows a shirt or two from me.” Davis said about the rumors of his engagement, according to unverified reports.
