Trae Young Trade: Time for the Atlanta Hawks to Move On?

Although Trae Young Trade effectively shoots and is thus an offensive weapon, his defensive shortcomings have become a pressing concern for the Atlanta Hawks, leaving no option for the club to evaluate his playing potential. The Hawks’ problems defensively have been seen all season long, as several opponents have consistently scored season-high points and the Hawks haven’t been able to stop them.

Trae Young Trade has been notably weak on defence, which is one of the reasons for his team not achieving success at this point. It is common for the Thracians to play better defensively when he is sitting on the bench. This tendency was especially revealed to be much worse when he was away from the team, resulting in the fact that the defensive rating improved when he was not around.

Young’s offensive contributions can always rescue his defensive reprogramming, but the interrelationship between him and Dejounte Murray has yet to show any good effect. The combined skills of the duo on the pitch are how each teammate has played with the other or whether their game styles are different enough.

Seen as “Murray” (the weaker part of the two) is the worst-scoring half, the plans to trade him (Murray) have been unsuccessful, leaving the Hawks in an extremely challenging position. For example, a young player who still has two years left on his contract can be traded off for the team, and this transaction can bring in valuable objects such as draft picks, and eventually, it can help the team be rebuilt.

The Spurs that control the Hawks’ picks in the next first round may offer a trade that would be beneficial for Atlanta to acquire what is needed for a rebuild and the assets that it requires. On the other hand, the Hawks might look at other players through trades as a measure to help them balance out their roster and attain good competitiveness.

Though none of them is a plan leading straight to a title campaign, they provide a direction for the Hawks that will guide them when they are reducing their player numbers and rebuilding their lineup. With the risk of continuously heading in the mediocrity direction as Young’s current status promotes, it is indispensable to explore trade options for him to negotiate a better future for the squad.
