The Las Vegas Aces advanced to the WNBA finals, crushing the Seattle Storm in Game 4 of their playoff semifinal series. The Aces won the game with a score of 97-92, owing big time to the collective 54 points of Chelsea Gray and A’ja Wilson. They beat the joint 71 points of Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd. Although Stewart scored a game-high 42 points and Loyd scored 29 points, no other player from the Storm managed to breach double digits on the board. They didn’t play like a team; rather, they got spotted depending on one or two players throughout the whole game.

Meanwhile, the Aces put on a team game and crossed the finishing line, readying themselves to take a bit at the cherry. Chelsea Gray scored a team-high 31 points with six rebounds and ten assists. A’ja Wilson scored 23 points with 13 game-high rebounds and two assets. Moreover, Jackie Young scored 18 points, and Kelsey Plum amassed 15 points.

End of Bird’s Illustrious Career

Sue Bird’s illustrious career came to an end with a loss in the semifinals. There were tears on the court and in the crowd. Bird’s career ended in the same place where it began more than 20 years ago.

“Kinda weird. Definitely surreal. I think initially … I felt sad about the season and the game. And I then think as the emotions started to come to the surface that was also what I know deep down in that was my last game,” Sue Bird said.

Chelsea Gray Went Crazy in the Fourth Quarter

The Storms gained a four-point lead in the first quarter, but the Aces reduced the margin to three, finishing the second quarter with a score of 25-24. Subsequently, in the third quarter, the Aces came out guns blazing, ending the quarter with a score of 22-12. They entered the fourth quarter with a seven-point lead on the board.

Meanwhile, the fourth quarter became intense as the Storms kept their nerves and started grabbing quick points. The Storm might have won the game, but Gray rattled their defense, scoring 15 of her 31 points in the fourth quarter of the game. She just gave the Aces a 3-point lead with a minute left in the game. Although the Storm finished the fourth quarter with 33-31, the Aces won the game with a score of 97-92.

Aces in the Finals

The Aces went 3-1 up in the best-of-five-game series after beating the Storm in Game 4. They are now all set to play in the finals. Meanwhile, the way they ended the semifinals, they are the hot favorites to win the championship. Meanwhile, it will be the Aces’ third appearance in the WNBA finals. The last time they reached the finals was in 2008, but they lost to Detroit.
