The Portland Trail Blazers will have the No. 7 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft that is going to be held on June 23.

There was no surprise in the 2022 NBA lottery Draft on Tuesday evening at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago as the Portland Blazers landed the No.7 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. After finishing the previous season with a 27-55 record, which was their worst after the 2005-06 season, the Portland Blazers entered the lottery with a 9% chance at the No. 1 overall pick and a 37.2% chance at a top-four selection. They had the highest odds (29.8%) of landing the No. 7 pick in the draft.

Superstar Damian Lillard, who was drafted with the No. 6 overall selection in 2012 by the team, represented the Blazers in the lottery draft. His response and expression after their draft pick perfectly summed up every Portland fan. Like him, fans were disappointed after landing such an unlucky pick. They took to social media to show their disappointment.

Response by the fans

Here are some of the responses that were shared on social media by the fans.

“Think there’s a good chance Portland trades the pick.” Was said by one fan on Twitter.

Some hoped the number seven might bring good luck and will be a good omen. “Hey, I’ve always loved lucky number 7.”

Some fans were, however, very disappointed with the lottery draft after a disappointing previous season. Here is how they responded. “All those losses… all that suffering. Just for this.” While some trolled their own team for not performing well and messing up the top picks in the past. “Historically tho, it’s best that the Blazers did not get a top 2 pick.”

Then there were some who were furious with the team and management and left no stones unturned criticizing their own team. “The blazers tanked half the season, playing people nobody had ever heard of and trading their second and third best players for peanuts in the name of tanking, lost the pelicans’ pick, and got bumped down. This is among the worst possible outcomes you could have feared.”
