NBA Season Sees Increased Attendance with 71% Sellout Rate

It is quite noticeable that the NBA season experienced an impressive increase in crowd attendance, with an average of 18,322 guests per game, and that 71% of the matches were fully sold out.

The total count of audience attendance was a record-setting 22,536,341 during this regular season (Sunday being the last day in the regular season), the second consecutive year of record-breaking attendance in the league. However, the league also reached new heights with the sales numbers, where it was able to score 872 sold-out shows, surpassing the previous season’s record of 791 sold-out shows. Apart from that, arenas all over the league had the privilege of being fully occupied at 98% capacity, which broke that record as well.

The introduction of the well-planned in-season tournament, which was held in November and December, was a key factor that increased the shift in attendance. The November games ended up breaking attendance records, with as many as 18,208 fans showing up in the arenas, once again proving that the tournament is a big hit not only amongst the VIPs but with the spectators as well.

Phenomenal is the fact that 10 NBA seasons, which are: Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Golden State, Miami, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Sacramento, succeed at selling out of their arenas in every game that they play all through the season. Also, the worldliness of the NBA was obvious when fans from fifty countries and areas around the world bought tickets to the show.
