Griner Broke the Law and should Pay the Price Accordingly

The WNBA star Brittney Griner got arrested at a Russian airport on February 17, 2022, as they allegedly found multiple cannabis oil vape cartridges in her luggage. She was traveling back to the States, playing for the UMMC Yekaterinburg in the Russian basketball league. Griner appealed to American President Joe Biden for assistance with her case. Meanwhile, numerous well-known celebrities are also supporting her cause.

However, many well-known figures like Lebron James called for her return to the States, but others have not been so forgiving. The former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling recently expressed his displeasure at Griner’s actions while replying to James on Twitter. He tweeted, stating that Griner broke the law and that she should pay for her action.

“I know this may seem like a stretch,” Schilling said.

“But something like 300 million people understand ‘OBEY THE F***ING LAW’, why is that such a challenge?

“And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country’s laws?”

Griner confessed in court to charges against her, informing the judge that she was not mean to break the law. Meanwhile, Schilling also used Griner’s confession against her, saying that she broke the law and should face the consequences accordingly.

“She, as far as I know from every quote of hers,” Schilling continued.

“[She] has NEVER denied committing the crime, not once.”

Although Biden admiration is negotiating for her with the Russian authorities, she pled guilty and is facing up to a ten years sentence in Russia.
