The Charlotte Hornets have announced their decision to initiate the search process for a new head of basketball operations. Mitch Kupchak, the current President of Basketball Operations & General Manager, will transition into an advisory role within the organization upon the arrival of the new hire.

Co-Chairmen Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin expressed their gratitude towards Kupchak for his significant contributions during his six-year tenure leading the Hornets’ basketball operations. They highlighted Kupchak’s professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the franchise, recognizing his invaluable role in shaping the team’s trajectory.

Schnall and Plotkin emphasized the importance of commencing the search process at this juncture to position the organization optimally for the upcoming offseason.
