Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 205 pounds, Smith brings a wealth of experience to the Cavaliers. He has showcased his skills in 32 games for the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ NBA G League affiliate, where he has been averaging 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Notably, Smith has demonstrated his prowess from beyond the arc, shooting an impressive 40.4% from three-point range.

Proven Track Record

Prior to his time with the Cleveland Charge, Smith spent two seasons (2018-2020) with the Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers. During his tenure with the Blue Coats, Smith displayed his versatility on the court, averaging 11.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Smith’s journey in the NBA includes stints with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his 13 career NBA games, he has shown flashes of his potential, averaging 3.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. Additionally, Smith made significant contributions during the 2023 NBA Summer League, where he showcased his scoring ability with the Thunder.

Collegiate Success

Selected as the 16th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, Smith honed his skills during his collegiate career at Texas Tech University. His time with the Red Raiders was marked by impressive performances, earning him recognition as a member of the All-Big 12 Defensive Team.

Jersey Number

As he joins the Cavaliers, Smith will don the number 19 jersey, previously worn by Damon Jones.
