Brandin Podziemski: Grooming to Succeed Steph Curry in the Warriors' Legacy

In his inaugural season with the Golden State Warriors, rookie guard Brandin Podziemski is already envisioning a future without the iconic presence of basketball legend Steph Curry by his side.

Following his standout performance in the 2024 NBA Rising Stars Game, where he contributed three points, four assists, and two rebounds, Podziemski candidly discussed the inevitable transition that will occur when Curry eventually decides to retire.

“When he retires, whenever that may be, I see it as my responsibility to carry on his legacy,” Podziemski remarked during a press conference.

Selected 19th overall by the Warriors in the 2023 NBA Draft, the 20-year-old Podziemski firmly believes that he is destined to be Curry’s successor, inspired by the veteran’s exemplary professionalism and leadership both on and off the court.

“Curry is simply incredible,” Podziemski expressed. “His dedication to the game and his humility in all aspects of life are truly admirable. He sets a remarkable example for everyone around him.”

Despite Curry’s illustrious career and numerous accolades, including four NBA championships, Podziemski remains in awe of his humility and approachability, which have earned him respect from teammates and fans alike.

Reflecting on his introduction to the Warriors, Podziemski expressed gratitude for Curry’s warm welcome and ongoing mentorship. “From the moment I joined the team, Curry has been incredibly supportive, guiding me both on and off the court. I am immensely thankful for his mentorship.”

While Podziemski continues to acclimate to life in the NBA, he remains focused on his development and cherishes the opportunity to learn from Curry, whom he considers a quintessential professional and esteemed teammate.

As Podziemski progresses in his rookie season, he has already garnered significant fan support, establishing himself as a favorite among supporters.

Before stepping into Curry’s shoes, which he hopes won’t happen for a considerable time, Podziemski aims to absorb as much knowledge as possible from the seasoned superstar and continue to admire him as both a player and mentor.

With Curry as his guide, Brandin Podziemski is poised to make a lasting impact on the Warriors and uphold the team’s legacy of excellence for years to come.
