An active NBA player has made it to the Forbes list of Billionaires for the very first time. The player is none other than Lebron James of LA Lakers.

The 37-year-old has reached the title after 12 years of playing in the NBA. His recent earning of USD 121.2 million helped him to reach grab the title of a billionaire. Apart from Lebron James, Michael Jordan is the only other basketball player that made it to the list of billionaires. However, Michael Jordan attained the status after 10 years of his retirement.

Lebron James just finished a two-year deal of USD 85 million with the Lakers. Moreover, he earned $387 million in salary during his NBA career. In addition, he earned an additional $900 million in endorsements since the start of his career in 2003.

As for his businesses, he signed a lifetime deal with Nike worth $1 billion, a rumored figure. He has also invested in SpringHill production company and owns $300 million in stakes. Furthermore, he has also invested in fast food chains like Blaze Pizza where he owns a 10% stake i.e. $30 million. James has also invested in Fenway Sports Group and owns a small portion of the company.

Forbes also highlighted James’ property and estimates that he owns $80 million in properties. He also owns a 13000 square foot of mansion worth $37 million in Beverly Hills.

Lebron James is still playing at his peak and has plenty of gas left in him. So, expect a gradual increase in his net worth in the upcoming years. He is also eligible for a two-year $97 million extension with his team LA Lakers.
