A new original Netflix Movie based on basketball, team politics, and raw basketball court play is worth a watch. This time it is our favorite star; Adam Sandler. He makes this basketball movie different than its predecessors on several accounts. The movie is known as Hustle, and it offers authenticity, a solid plot, and spectacular performances from the stars. The movie is different as the character are not real but rather fictional characters directed by Jeremiah Zagar.
We will not spoil your movie at all, so do not worry about the spoilers. The movie features Adam Sandler as Stanley Sugarman is a longtime scout for the Philadelphia 76ers. He is given the task to find the next Luka Doncic, Giannis Antekounmpo, and if failed, face extermination.
The plot brings forth comedy and drama, well-choreographed basketball sequences, and several former and current basketball stars. Shaq O’ Neal, Dirk Nowitzki, Mark Cuban, Trae Young, Mark Jackson, Pat Croce, Tyrese Maxey, Seth Curry, Doc Rivers, Julius Erving, and Allen Iverson.
Adam Sandler and his appearance of low key intensity, laid back attitude, a slow go physicality and a sheepish expression. He sets out to find the next big star for his team and is callously pushed by the new owner. He finds Bo Cruz, played by Juancho Hernangomez, who possesses all the features of a promising NBA star.
The movie receives more strength as Queen Latifah plays Stanley’s wife’s role. Her presence as a sweet and warm character is felt throughout the movie. Jordan Hull plays Stanely’s daughter, the domestic family scene between the three are heart warming.
The movie offers a lot, especially the basketball sequences are top-notch and shows what the game is all about. Hustle feels pretty close to what life is inside the NBA world. The movie is thoroughly enjoyable, right from the start till the end.
