Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals 2022, crushing the Boston Celtics with a score of 103-90 in game six, dominating the series by 4-2. They won their fourth title in eight years, thanks to the mouthwatering performance of the great Stephen Curry. He claimed his first Final Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the first time in his career. He grabbed it by outscoring Boston’s top-ranked defense in the Finals by an average of 31 points, five assists, and six rebounds. Meanwhile, he scored 34 points in the sixth game of the series.

Curry’s MVP Struggle

Despite being one of the finest players in the NBA at the time, Curry had never won the Finals MVP title. Although he led the Warriors to the Finals in six of the last eight NBA seasons, he always remained empty-handed, and other players claimed the MVP. Andre Iguodala unexpectedly won his first title in 2015 after being added to the starting lineup for Game Four. However, he played phenomenally well, assisting Golden State, winning the remaining three games of the series.

Meanwhile, Curry would have been the overwhelming favorite for the award had the Warriors defeated Cleveland in the 2016 Finals. However, they lost the rematch. Then came Kevin Durant, who earned MVP of the Finals in 2017 and 2018.

However, Curry’s success in the NBA Finals 2022 was indisputable. Curry was a dependable player for Golden State during a series in which everyone had scoring issues. His best performance came in the fourth game when he scored 43 points. The Warriors won the NBA Finals thanks to his 34 points in Game Six.

The NBA Finals 2022

The Warriors contested the NBA Finals in 2022 against the Boston Celtics in a six-game series. The Warriors were the Western Conference winners, while the Celtics prevailed in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics made a promising start to their run for the NBA Finals in 2022, winning the opening match of the series, but the Warriors bounced back in the second game, squaring the lead at 1-1. Subsequently, the Celtics won the third game, but the Warriors again leveled the series, winning the fourth game at 2-2.

The Warriors won the fifth and sixth games of the series with scores of 104-94 and 103-90, respectively. Eventually, they won the NBA Finals 2022, winning the series by a 4-2 lead.
