The Warriors become a disheartening spectacle when Stephen Curry isn't lighting up the court.

Initially, there was a surge of excitement as the Golden State Warriors achieved a 6-2 start to the season. While impressive, the enthusiasm was largely fueled by Stephen Curry’s historic performance, becoming the first player in history to make at least four 3-pointers in each of a season’s first nine games.

Now, as we witness the Warriors without Curry’s scorching presence, the scene is far from appealing. It’s almost painful to watch. Despite their 6-5 record, the Warriors have yet to see a player other than Curry score more than 20 points in a game. Their recent 116-110 loss to the Timberwolves highlighted the team’s struggles, and the final score did not accurately reflect the Wolves’ dominance. This defeat marked the Warriors’ third consecutive loss and fourth in five games.

Even Curry’s impressive 38-point performance against Minnesota doesn’t mask the underlying issues. He shot 5-of-13 from 3, a decent performance for most but subpar for Curry, who is now 17 for his last 44 from deep. The team’s heavy reliance on Curry is evident, and when he’s not at his best, the Warriors suffer.

In the absence of Jordan Poole, the team lacks a player who can inject energy and create opportunities. Chris Paul’s struggles are glaring, with a meager two points on free throws in the recent game. Klay Thompson, the second-leading scorer with 16 points, had to take 16 shots to achieve that, emphasizing the team’s offensive challenges.

Andrew Wiggins, expected to be the second scoring option, is underperforming, and it’s astonishing that, apart from Curry, no other player has scored more than 20 points in a game for the Warriors.

The team’s collective 27% shooting from deep against the Timberwolves is part of a larger trend of poor shooting performances. Beyond Curry, the Warriors cannot consistently create scoring opportunities, making them appear sluggish and dependent on Curry’s brilliance.

As Curry experiences a rare cold streak, the flaws in the Warriors’ roster and playing style are glaring. The team’s overreliance on one player not only jeopardizes their chances of winning but also makes them less enjoyable to watch.
