Storm manages to beat Fever quite comfortably, courtesy of brilliant performance by Jewell Loyd

The Seattle Storm defeated the Indiana Fever 95-73 on Tuesday night. Jewell Loyd was brilliant in the game, scoring 25 points and nine rebounds, along with Ezi Magbegor’s 19 points, and seven rebounds. Breanna Stewart scored 18 of her 20 points in the opening period, moving Tina Charles into fourth place in WNBA scoring history.

For Seattle, Gabby Williams scored an additional 14 points, Ezi Magbegor contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Breanna Stewart added 12 points. Sue Bird scored just two points on 1-of-7 shooting while dishing out five assists. In her farewell visit to Indiana, Briann January, also scored two points. She will retire after the season.

At the half, Seattle was up 44-35 thanks to Loyd’s 14 points. Despite making just 1 of 10 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes, the Storm shot 50% from the field. The Storm shot 6 for 24 from beyond the arc in the end.

For Indiana, Kelsey Mitchell scored 21 points (5-18). Danielle Robinson had 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists, and NaLyssa Smith contributed 14 more points.

This means five straight losses for Indiana, including a 73-57 defeat in Seattle on Friday.
