Shaquille O'Neal Playfully Mocks Shooting Trainer's Excuses in Hilarious Video After Notorious 3-Point Contest Loss

NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal has kept the banter alive with Instagram shooting trainer Anthony Miracola, revisiting the latter’s infamous 3-point contest failure on Inside the NBA. Shaq, known for his entertaining commentary, responded hilariously to Miracola’s recent appearance on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast, where he attempted to explain the embarrassing moment on live TV.

Miracola, who once set a world record with 31 straight 3-pointers in a minute, faced off against Kenny Smith in 2019, missing all three attempts while Smith effortlessly made all of his shots. In the latest interview on Gil’s Arena, Miracola addressed the episode, citing difficulties in adjusting to the unique court inside the TNT studios.

Shaq, unmoved by Miracola’s “excuses,” playfully mocked the trainer in a video shared on Instagram. The four-time NBA champion posted the video with a caption that added humour to the ongoing banter.

Acknowledging Miracola’s challenges with the TNT studio court, Smith had previously mentioned the need for adaptation to the lights and props. Despite the initial setback, Miracola has bounced back, winning $100,000 in Gilbert Arenas’ shooting contest, showcasing his resilience in the world of shooting training.

In a surprising turn of events, Shaquille O’Neal, primarily known for dominating the 2-point range during his illustrious NBA career, has displayed his playful side in retirement by attempting and even making occasional three-point shots. One notable instance was at a DJ show, where he thrilled the crowd by sinking a deep shot on his first attempt, highlighting his versatility beyond the paint.
