Meet The Artist: Sacha Reid
Originally from West Virginia, Sacha Reid is a talented painter and mixed media artist currently pursuing an interdisciplinary studies major with a minor in painting at Howard University. Her work often revolves around Black portraiture, where she explores her cultural identity and experiences as a young Black woman.
Aspirations and Achievements
Despite facing challenges in a predominantly white environment, Sacha remains motivated to celebrate her Jamaican heritage and empower Black women through her art. Having exhibited her work at prestigious venues like the French Embassy in DC and Art Basel in Miami, Sacha aims to continue exploring Black portraiture and become a curator to uplift and showcase Black artists.
