Rockets' Alperen Sengun Exits Court in Wheelchair After Injury Scare, MRI Scheduled

Alperen Sengun, a standout performer for the Rockets this season, endured a distressing moment during the game against the Kings. The promising third-year centre, known for his significant contributions in scoring, rebounding, and playmaking, suffered a frightening leg injury that left fans and teammates concerned.

The incident occurred as Alperen Sengun attempted to block a shot from Kings’ centre Domantas Sabonis. Unfortunately, he landed awkwardly, immediately clutching his right knee in pain. The severity of the injury prompted him to be escorted off the court in a wheelchair, visibly distressed by the ordeal.

While the Rockets managed to secure a 112-104 victory against the Kings, Sengun’s injury cast a shadow over the game. Concerns about his well-being arose, leading to the decision for him to undergo an MRI examination on both his right knee and ankle.

Despite the setback, the Rockets demonstrated resilience, with Fred VanVleet leading the team’s balanced offensive effort with 22 points.
