Nikola Jokic’s Siblings: Fearless Protectors of Their Brother’s Honor

In early January, Miami’s Markieff Morris, who had missed 30 consecutive games due to a neck injury sustained during a November altercation with Denver’s Nikola Jokic, made some strong comments.

The incident had occurred when Jokic delivered a forceful shove to Morris during a late-game scuffle on November 8, resulting in a one-game suspension for Jokic.

The league also fined Morris $50,000 for initiating the altercation by intentionally colliding with Jokic from the side during the preceding play, a foul that had been deemed flagrant by the referees.

The frustration of Morris, who had been sidelined for 30 games, became increasingly evident in recent days as he took to social media to discuss the impact of “whiplash” on his condition.

In a direct address to Jokic, he vented, “Imagine having a 300-pound, clumsy individual charging at you at full speed and making direct contact with your spine! I’ll return as promised.”

These words did not sit well with Nikola Jokic’s two brothers, Strahinja and Nemanja, who swiftly sprang to the defense of their MVP-caliber sibling. They referred to Morris as a “crybaby” and cautioned him to “mind his words.”

It’s safe to assert that these two imposing Serbian individuals have no reservations about confrontation and are prepared to confront anyone who speaks disparagingly about their brother.
