Scot Pollard rose to prominence as a high school basketball star in California and Washington before attending the University of Kansas. After four successful seasons at Kansas, he entered the NBA as the 19th overall pick in the 1997 draft by the Detroit Pistons.
Although his stint with the Pistons was brief, Pollard found his stride after being traded to the Sacramento Kings. He became a key member of the Kings’ roster during the early 2000s, alongside players like Mike Bibby, Chris Webber, and Vlade Divac. Pollard enjoyed some of his most successful years in Sacramento and was widely regarded as one of the top backup big men in the league.
