Currently with the Hawks, Murray has been a consistent performer, averaging 21.1 points, 5.0 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 34.7 minutes per game. Before joining the Hawks last season, he spent five years with the San Antonio Spurs, earning his first All-Star nod in 2002.
Despite steady performances from All-Star Trae Young and Murray, the Hawks (15-21) have faced challenges in the current NBA season. Meanwhile, the Lakers, after clinching the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament in December, have struggled, posting a 5-11 record in their next 16 games, bringing their overall record to 19-20.
To secure Murray, the Lakers may need to offer a compelling trade package, potentially including popular player Austin Reaves.
