Kristaps Porzingis Delivers Positive Update on Ankle Injury After Celtics' Game

After a concerning moment in the game against the Boston Celtics, Kristaps Porzingis provided a positive injury update on his left ankle. During the third quarter, the Latvian big man landed awkwardly on Bam Adebayo’s foot while contesting a shot attempt, leading to a temporary exit from the game.

Porzingis, visibly in pain, promptly headed to the locker room for treatment and did not return to the court. However, he later rejoined his teammates on the bench, displaying good spirits as he witnessed the rest of the Celtics’ victorious game.

Offering insights into his Ankle Injury after the game, Porzingis shared an optimistic outlook. He explained, “I just went to contest Bam’s (Adebayo’s) shot and landed on his foot and rolled my ankle. Not too bad. Got me pretty good in the moment. But I’m feeling pretty good now. I think tomorrow will be clearer, how it’s doing, especially after the flight and all that. But as of right now, I’m feeling pretty good. I’m just trying to stay positive.”

The Celtics’ player assured reporters that, if required, he could have returned to the game, describing the injury as “not too bad” and expressing confidence in his well-being. “I think depending on the game a little bit, sprained ankle is no big deal in general, so if the situation was needed, I would have played for sure,” said Porzingis.

He acknowledged the smart decision to sit out during that specific point in the game, considering the circumstances. Looking ahead, Porzingis anticipates some swelling but remains optimistic about his recovery. In the current NBA season, he has participated in 33 out of the Celtics’ 45 games, contributing an average of 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
