Jordyn Woods Opens Up About Cyberbullying Experience Amid Online Trolling

In a candid conversation on ‘Recipe for Change’ by SpringHill, Jordyn Woods, girlfriend of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns, revealed a painful memory of her first encounter with online trolling. The American TV personality and model recounted a distressing incident from her childhood, emphasizing the impact of hateful comments on her self-esteem.

Woods shared a heartbreaking memory from when she was just twelve years old, recalling a paparazzi photo featuring her and a childhood friend that garnered hurtful comments about her appearance.

“I remember when I was twelve… I saw the first hateful comment about myself and the way I looked,” Woods said. “The comments were really messed up… You guys are talking about a twelve-year-old child, and that to me, hurt.”

Despite facing such hurtful comments at a young age, Woods expressed how she has grown to be more confident over the years. However, she acknowledged that there are days when negative comments still affect her, emphasizing the importance of avoiding online trolling.

Woods and Towns, introduced by mutual friends, began their relationship as close friends before officially dating in May 2020. They publicly announced their relationship in September of the same year and have since shared a strong bond built on “friendship and trust.”

“We were really good friends before we started dating,” Woods shared with people. “COVID gave us that free time in our life to get to know each other… We’ve been through a lot together… I think we have a very strong foundation.”

Jordyn Woods Trolling frequently supports Towns at Minnesota Timberwolves games, and most recently attended Game 2 of the first round of the 2023–24 playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. The Timberwolves secured a victory in that match, leading the series 2-0.

Woods’ revelation sheds light on the pervasive issue of cyberbullying and its detrimental effects on mental health, especially among young individuals. Despite her public persona and large following, Woods’ encounter with online trolling highlights the vulnerability many face in the digital age.

As a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, Woods’ openness about her experiences can serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of kindness and empathy online. Her story underscores the need for increased awareness and action to combat cyberbullying and promote a safer, more supportive online environment.
