Only thirty days are left in the much-awaited FIBA Asia Cup, which will be held from July 12 to 24 in Jakarta, Indonesia. A lot of quality will be on display as top players from Asia will be competing for their National side. We analyzed 30 players to watch at the event and three of them turned out to be Iranians.

  1. Hamed Haddadi

Haddadi has won four Asia Cup MVP awards, however, he has only been able to successfully defend his title twice, in 2007 and 2009. He had an outstanding 2017 MVP campaign in which he averaged 16.2 points and 10.8 rebounds. 6.5 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. The illustrious Iranian center may make a comeback after that impressive performance and second MVP.

  1. Mohammad Jamshidi

Jamshidi was a member of the 2017 Asia Cup All-Star Five squad as well. If Jamshidi is traveling to Jakarta, he’ll be seeking to continue his hot streak. He was instrumental in thrashing Bahrain for 41 points in the World Cup Qualifiers.

  1. Saber Kazemi

After coming so close in 2017, Kazemi might be seeking his first Asia Cup victory as well. His near-perfect performance of 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals on 8-9 shooting against Korea in the Semi-Finals was the highlight of his season.  This performance saw him average 10.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
