According to FiveThirtyEight Boston has been given an 80% chance of winning the finals
The Celtics were +5000 at DraftKings Sportsbook when the NBA championship markets first opened in 2022. In January, they were hovering around.500, and they were on the decline. But they gained traction and their fortunes began to change.
Here’s what the FiveThirtyEight Believe
The NBA Finals matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Golden State Warriors will begin on Thursday at Chase Center in San Francisco. The Warriors, on the other hand, might not want to come up if it were up to FiveThirtyEight.
The Celtics have an 80% probability of winning the NBA Finals, according to FiveThirtyEight, a website that examines politics, sports, and science problems through the prism of data. This is the highest percentage they’ve given any team this season.
DraftKings Sportsbook (-150), Caesars Sportsbook (-155), and BetMGM (-160) all list the Warriors as favourites heading into the series, despite FiveThirtyEight’s prediction.
This isn’t the first time FiveThirtyEight has predicted the Celtics as the NBA champion, as the team led their projections before to the All-Star Weekend in February.
According to FiveThirtyEight, the Celtics had a 6% chance of winning the NBA Finals entering this season, while the Warriors had a 0.1 percent chance on opening night.
