Doubtful Key Players Return to Training & The Warriors Looking Stronger for the Finals

The Golden State Warriors received a major injury update ahead of Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.

Gary Payton II, Otto Porter Jr., and Andre Iguodala were full participants in practice on Tuesday, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic:

As stated in the tweet, Tuesday’s practice was light, with a more intense session scheduled for tomorrow. As a result, Wednesday’s practice will provide a better indication of each player’s availability for Game 1. Here’s a little more on Golden State’s practice plans for this week from Steve Kerr:

The Warriors would benefit greatly if all three were available to participate in the Finals.

Each has played a major role in Golden State’s playoff rotation when healthy.

Payton is the team’s top perimeter defender, but he has been out since breaking his elbow against the Memphis Grizzlies. Porter had been contributing to the Warriors’ success, but he has missed the team’s last two postseason games after injuring his foot in Game 3 of the series against the Dallas Mavericks. Iguodala, on the other hand, hasn’t played since Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets.
