The Cleveland Cavaliers have strengthened their roster by signing forward Marcus Morris Sr. to a 10-day contract, Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman announced today from Cleveland Clinic Courts.

Professional Experience

Morris Sr., standing at 6 feet 8 inches and weighing 235 pounds, brings a wealth of experience to the Cavaliers. He has appeared in 820 NBA games over his 13-year career, starting 509 of those games. His journey in the league has seen him play for various teams, including the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, LA Clippers, and most recently, the Philadelphia 76ers.

Season Performance

During the current NBA season, Morris Sr. showcased his skills in 37 games with the Philadelphia 76ers before being part of a trade to the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team deal on February 8th. Subsequently, he was waived by the Spurs on February 29th. Throughout his career, Morris Sr. has maintained solid averages of 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 26.7 minutes per game.

Playoff Experience

Morris Sr. has also proven his mettle in the playoffs, having appeared in 67 postseason games with averages of 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds in 30.1 minutes per game. His ability to perform under pressure and contribute during crucial playoff moments adds valuable depth to the Cavaliers’ roster.

Collegiate Accolades

Before embarking on his professional career, Morris Sr. honed his skills at the University of Kansas, where they gave him the title of the 2010–11 Big 12 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. His collegiate success served as a springboard for his subsequent achievements in the NBA.
