Career History

Miami Heat: 2021-CURRENT (1 SEASON)

Caleb Martin is an American professional basketball player, currently playing for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was a member of the NC State Wolfpack and the Nevada Wolf Pack in collegiate basketball. He is also has a twin brother, named Cody Martin. Coaches in the Mountain West Conference awarded him Player of the Year for the 2017–18 season.

Martin, a 6 ft. 5 in (1.96 m) small forward from Mocksville, North Carolina, played basketball with his twin brother Cody at prep powerhouse Oak Hill Academy. Caleb and his brother played three seasons at Davie County High School in Mocksville before coming to Oak Hill. Martin averaged 11.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore. After that season, the Martin twins elected to transfer to Nevada to play for Coach Eric Musselman. Martin was selected Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year heading into his senior season. Martin scored 19.2 points per game, grabbed 5.1 rebounds, and dished out 2.8 assists per game. Nevada finished with a 29–5 (15–3 MW) record under his command. Martin’s college career came to an end with a 61–70 loss against Florida in the NCAA Tournament’s First Round.

Professional career

Charlotte Hornets (2019–2021)

Martin signed with the Charlotte Hornets on July 31, 2019, after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was drafted alongside his brother Cody, who was picked in the second round. Martin’s contract was converted to a two-way contract on October 19, 2019. Martin agreed to a multi-year deal with the Hornets later that day and was converted to a regular deal. Martin made his NBA debut on October 25, 2019, with four points, two rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal in a 99–121 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Martin was assigned to the Hornets’ NBA G League club, the Greensboro Swarm, on November 27, 2019. On August 7, 2021, Martin was released from the Hornets.

Miami Heat (2021–present)

Martin signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat and the Sioux Falls Skyforce on September 14, 2021. Martin’s contract was converted to a regular agreement by the Heat on February 15, 2022.
