WNBA: Las Vegas Aces are Favorites to Clinch the Victory over Indiana Fever

The Las Vegas Aces look promising to make a quick turnaround from a terrifying defeat when they faced the Indiana Fever on Thursday.

Early on, the Las Vegas Aces were thrashed by Atlanta Dream in a 92-76 home loss. The 16-point difference is the second-worst defeat of the season for Las Vegas. After one quarter, the Aces were behind 35-18 and never recovered. While Atlanta made 51.6% of its shots, the Aces had a season-low 36.6 percent field goal percentage. Las Vegas made just 10 of 35 3-point attempts, compared to the Dream’s impressive 15 of 24. Atlanta also had a 40-29 advantage in rebounds.

After winning 13 of their first 15 games of the season, the Aces are only 5-6. The Fever (5-23) have suffered 10 straight defeats, including their recent setback to the Las Vegas Sparks on Tuesday (86-79).

Although the Fever didn’t appear to be playing poorly, the defense was unable to earn adequate blocks to win the game. The Fever average 77.8 points per game, but their defense allows 88.2 points per contest. In the WNBA, both the offense and defense are rated bottom.

The Aces defense has been a problem, allowing 85.7 points per game, and Indiana will score a lot of points in this game. The Fever will score more than their 77.8-point season average, which will make the difference as Indiana keeps things close.
